Fits exactly
Made from an impression of your teeth, so it's slim, secure and easy to breathe and talk through.
Owen Sound is a hockey town, and we see the results of stray sticks and pucks. A custom mouthguard is the cheapest dental insurance there is.

A store-bought boil-and-bite guard is better than nothing, but only just. It's bulky, it loosens over time, and kids tend to chew it or leave it in the bag. A custom mouthguard is made from an impression of your teeth, so it's thinner, fits snugly without needing to be clenched in place, and stays put during play. Athletes actually wear it, which is the whole point.
Mouthguards protect more than teeth. A well-fitted guard cushions the jaw and reduces the chance of cut lips and cheeks. It's recommended for hockey, football, rugby, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, skateboarding and martial arts, for anyone from minor hockey age up through adult rec leagues.
We make guards for players across Grey-Bruce, in your team colours if you like. For growing kids, we check the fit each season and remake as needed.

Even thickness over the front teeth, where impacts land, and coverage of the back teeth for jaw support.
A comfortable guard stays in the mouth, not in the equipment bag.
Sized for young players and adjusted or remade as they grow.
A few minutes in the chair to take an impression of the upper teeth. No freezing, no discomfort.
The guard is fabricated on a model of your teeth in the thickness suited to your sport.
You try it on, we trim and adjust, and you get care instructions. Usually ready within a week or so.
Bring it to your regular visit and we'll check for wear and fit, especially for growing kids.
Rinse the guard in cool water after every use, let it dry, and keep it in its vented case. Never leave it in a hot car or run it through the dishwasher. Replace it if it's cracked, chewed through or no longer fits. Some private plans cover a sports guard, particularly for children; we'll check yours.
If your question isn't here, call us. A real person picks up during office hours.
Yes, a guard for braces is made differently. We don't provide orthodontics ourselves, but we can make a guard to fit over braces from another office.
For adults, several seasons with good care. Children's guards often need replacing every year or two as their teeth and jaws grow.
Much less so than a boil-and-bite. Because a custom guard is thinner and stays put on its own, most players forget it's there.
Keep the tooth moist, ideally in milk, don't scrub it, and get to us within the hour. See our emergency page for step-by-step instructions.
